Bruno Ganz gives a stunning performance in it as Adolf Hitler--yes, Damiel the angel and Hitler have been portrayed by the same actor. In fact, needing an antidote to 'Downfall' is what led me to see 'Wings of Desire.' So if you see it, or have seen it, let me know. And 'Das Boot,' of course......OK, I'll shut up now. But do keep in touch! ;)Jane is ahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13861642801686676510noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3139769202527811820.post-24475700115313649902011-02-09T12:49:26.494-08:002011-02-09T12:49:26.494-08:00@JaneIsA Thanks for the kind words! I'd just been to Berlin for the first time in November, and I'm absolutely astonished at how different the place is.

@Harpreet Thanks for stopping by! Ha that's cool about Cirque Alekan. In the Bonus Featurette on the DVD, Wenders talks about how you could not make a realistic movie about Berlin in the 80's without including Nick Cave, that's how pervasive his popularity was.

I visited Berlin just once, in 1980. I REALLY can't get over how much it has changed in the pictures I've seen since the wall came down.Jane is ahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13861642801686676510noreply@blogger.com
