Hello to one and all! I recently had the opportunity to read and review Rules of Civility by Amor Towles for Blogher.com.

It's a great cocktail of a book: one part Fitzgerald, one part Mad Men and one part Richard Yates, and it goes down smooth.

Come on over and read the full review.

  1. I was stunned by the imagery, the brutality, and the beauty of Towles
writing. The plot was reminiscent of Fitzgerald, but the characters
seemed much more real. I loved this book; it will be added to my list of
    favorites.

  2. I've read a lot of comparisons of
this book to The Great Gatsby, and I can see that but I actually thought
about Wharton more while reading it. I thoroughly enjoyed this book,
its depiction of a city I love and the beauty of the language the author
used to set the stage. It's definitely one of my top reads.
